Pending Issues Summary
These case summaries are made available to inform the public of the general subject matter in cases that the Supreme Court has accepted for review. The statement of the issue or issues in each case set out below does not necessarily reflect the views of the court, or define the specific issues that will be addressed by the court.
California Rules of Court, rule 8.516, governs the issues to be briefed, argued, and decided in review-granted matters. The court may decide any issues that are raised or fairly included in the petition or answer, but need not address every issue that the parties raise. (Cal. Rules of Court, rule 8.516(b)(1), (3).) The court may also specify the issues to be briefed, argued, and decided. (Id., rule 8.516(a), (b)(2).)
